Went here for breakfast today. My wife ordered a waffle and when they brought it out it was cold. She sent it back and they just put it in the microwave and brought her back a rubberized waffle. She couldn't eat it and the server couldn't have cared less. No apology, no offer to get another one, just brought us the bill with the waffle on it. I was warned to avoid this place. Should have listened.

Went with the wife on a trip in January 2014. This is not high end fine cuisine. This home style comfort food for mature people. The restaurant is clean, but dated. The service is good, the help attentive, but not overly so. The food is very tasty, well prepared, well presented and a very nice portion for the money. I had the Leg of Lamb Dinner, it was outstanding and what made it even more so was one of my favorite foods from my childhood, a Spice Apple Ring!

I gave this place several tries but I finally threw in the towel after the last dining experience. The food is average but the service is the worst, so I averaged on two stars. Now, to be fair, I didn't have high expectations to begin with. I knew this wasn't going to be fine dining. What I did not expect was the extreme bleach smell that permeated the restaurant. I'm all for clean surfaces, but when it smells like I'm eating in a nursing home hallway, it hurts the appetite. I figured that was a one-time incident, but nope. Next time, same smell. Third time, I wanted Mexican but others wanted traditional so we tried this restaurant one more time. Thankfully, the smell was not as bad this time, but we were shuffled through an almost empty dining room to the jam-packed converted Arizona room. After staring at our menus laying on our table for 10 minutes our server finally came over and got drinks started. The coffee came without sugar or creamer, which we asked for and I had to ransack another empty table to finally get some after asking twice. When the food finally came, I asked for some extra gravy for my biscuits and gravy. The waiter gave me a look and said "that should be enough". I was shocked! What happened to the customer is always right? Anyway, when he came back later he said that the cook was "proprietary" about the meals. What the .....??? Who cares? If a customer wants more gravy, get it! If you want to charge me for it, fine! Just let me know and don't question me. Regardless, I and everyone at my table decided that we were done with this place.

I'm a local and I have been there many times for coffe and such. I would never eat there because food is below average. Their quality isn't good. Wonderful staff and friendly locals is what you will get there. Because it is a retirement area you will find lots of boring, bland food. If I must eat there I would chose breakfast and stick to simple basics.

Go around to the back and go into the bar called Easy Street. Great Happy hour from 2-7pm All appetizers are half price, try the onion rings and Quesadillas. Really great Margaritas. You won't be dissapointed.

My Father Brother and I went here around 930. The place was really empty. But the waiter got us a table right quick. The waiter their was top notch 5 star all the way. Kept keeping tabs on us and telling us how are food is, making sure we had enough water and all that jazz. The food was about $11 for most every thing and they serve breakfast lunch and dinner all day long. I got the nacho supreme my brother got the bisects and gravy and my father got a veggie omelette. The nachos where really good they had salsa on the side they had guacamole and meat and beans but not a lor if cheese, however when i got half way through. All the chips where turning orange from all the grease from the meat. And all the guac and salsa was gone and it just tasted like meat and chips. My brothers biscuits and gravy wherent any thing to brag about, the gravy was good and the biscuits needed a lot of it too. I didn't try the veggie omelette but my dad said it was good. The restaurant was a nice place, nice staff, but the food was a little under par but it was still pretty good.

We just moved to Green Valley and although it is a great place to live I'm disappointed for the lack of restaurants ..oh well one can't have everything. We saw this restaurant and decided to give it a shot because the parking lot was full and that told me that this place must be good. We were seated and food was ordered, I ordered the fish and chips and when my food was delivered I knew I had been robbed of $12. I received 3 pieces of minnow sized fish and a few frys. I politely questioned the portion to our server and she told me if I want more fish I should come on Friday for the all you can eat fish. This was a appetizer size portion and it should be on the children's menu My partner in crime ordered a hamburger with all the fixings which consisted of a wilted piece of lettuce and one skimpy onion ring. If the french fries on her plate and the ones on mine were combined it still would have not totaled a small order of MacDonalds fries. Oh. By the way I could have gotten the same meal at McDonald's and it would have been much better....how sad. Well, this place threw out the bait, I got hooked and was fortunate to break free and I won't get hooked again.

Absolutely disgusting experience. My wife and children went here for dinner, I asked for "chicken tenders" for my children and they brought me out those Tyson chicken nuggets in the dinosaur shape, really? If I wanted those I would have went to a grocery store. My wife ordered the "chicken dinner." She was brought back a KFC looking type of fried frozen chicken, which was completely frozen (not cold) FROZEN in the middle. I ordered the "fish and chips" and was given some "Gordon fishermen" type fish, you know, those fillets you can buy in the frozen fish section. It was like I was eating in a college dorm, but at least there the food was cooked! After being served raw frozen chicken, grocery store chicken nuggets and fish, I would never go back.

My associate and I were traveling south on I-19 and stopped for breakfast at Arizona Family Restaurant. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my associate ordered the Chorizo and Eggs - the menu indicates that most breakfast items are available all day. Our meals were served quickly, even before finishing the first cup of coffee. The Eggs Benedict with Canadian Bacon and tomato slices was very delicious, fresh, and the food was served hot. My associate compared the Chorizo and Eggs to food his mother prepares. It was served with beans and hash browns and was plentiful and delicious as well. The decor seems dated or stuck in an earlier era, but the breakfast meals were excellent.

Location: Right off Interstate 19 and Esperanza in Green Valley Atmosphere: Very dated but clean. Definitely not catered to the under 50 crowd but that is to be understood as this was in Green Valley. Food: You can tell that this food is geared to what I call the "bland" eater. I ended up ordering a chicken dinner with two sides (baked potato and green beans). Unfortunately the chicken you can tell was dry, the bake potato was okay and the green beans had absolutely no flavor and were very "can" like. Again, I understand that this was in Green Valley, AZ. We did order other dishes like chicken tenders, spaghetti for the kids, etc. All seemed very "Sysco" like, meaning "straight out of can". You can definitely tell chicken tenders and the spaghetti sauce was of that nature. Recommend: Unfortunately, no. For dinner, I would find another restaurant unless you're okay with no flavor in your food...but bless their heart they were trying.

Our Mom in Law loves the place so took the family last week. Like the other reviews I was pleased. Place was clean as a whistle & food was fresh & hot. Server was super busy but very attentive and helpful. Very close to town & shopping for the family. Didn't notice they have a lounge/bar until we were leaving. Will have to try it out next visit - we will be back!

Well, well, I miss the old days of Mom and Pop restaurants where food was made from scratch. Breakfast was so good back then. Sigh This is like a down graded Denny's or Shari's. Not thrilling. You will not get sick. You might fall asleep and crash into your food.... zzz zzzzzzzzzz

Food is good most of the time but nothing fancy. One of a very few places in town. Just don't plan on a nice quiet dinner with all the folks that are hard of hearing trying to talk over each other and carry on conversations across the tables. LOL!!

Been coming here for couple years now for bfast and it's still pretty good, kinda surprised by the negative reviews but maybe that's more for dinner. Breakfast was great! At least for us... We typically have chorizo and eggs (really good) sometimes waffles, and also corn beef hash and eggs. In the negative side they seem incapable of making poached eggs correctly, way overcooked, consistently.

Great Food and service. I eat two or three times a week here and the food is always great. I just wish they would improve the mashed Potatoes.

COMFORT FOOD. That's what you come here for. This is a family restaurant with that comfort food, small town feeling. Service is usually polite, not necessarily overly friendly, and slow. Don't come here to snap your fingers for service, fast food or modern cuisine. Come here to step outside of the hustle and bustle, relax a while, and get that homey feeling where everyone knows each other. This is Green Valley - so yes - the average customer is over 55. I'm not even close to that age and I love it. It reminds me of my grandma. It's my favorite place to eat if I want that familiar comfort - or want to feel young (hehe!). And the decorations are nice for the holidays. It's a typical family restaurant complete with lots of booths, some tables, a bar to eat at and a bar in another room in the back. It's a pretty big restaurant. Lots of parking in a private lot in front of a small hotel (I forget which one - but it's a major hotel chain type). (also, If you have clothes to get rid of, there's a clothing donation bin in the parking lot, fyi.) Food: They have a different featured special daily. You can eat breakfast all day. My favorites: Fries - awesome crispy fries French Dip - ask for horse radish on the side (if you like it with that like I do, it's pretty potent) Hot turkey sandwich/open faced turkey sandwich - omg, so yummy! this is quintessential comfort food! bread they use is perfect, gravy & mashed potatoes are tasty, turkey is moist Edit: THE BEST Country Fried Steak around!!!!

Breakfast is good, not great, but decent. You're not likely to get sick. You'd do better at a Denny's or IHOP for sure. Better yet there's a Mc Donalds close by that can probably beat it. Dinner looks like something from my grade school cafeteria. Can't believe this place survives, must be a lot of folks here who don't know what really good food should taste like. I can't even defend it based on prices, because I think they are high for what you get and the very low quality of the processed frozen food they serve.

We checked out this cute diner after soccer one night. Perfect for a breakfast dinner. There were tons of cute autumn decorations up and loads of staff to keep us happy. The facilities were nice and I would definitely rate this establishment higher than the Green Valley Denny's. I had a Belgian waffle (add pecans) with strawberry and whipped cream topping. The kids liked their burgers & fries and the baby macked her bacon all gone. Hubs says it's still not better than Jerry Bob's though! For a late night snack attack I would recommend.

Arizona Family has improved lately and I'm really enjoying the cute July 4th decorations. I had Egg's Benedict for breakfast today and it was very good. Pretty good service too. They've gone up a star!

I've only had breakfast here, but one of the best! Both times I ordered the huevos rancheros. Excellent! Tasty! Cooked just right. Atmosphere was friendly and lots of local residents. Waitstaff friendly and courteous. Nice booth seating for my bad back.

I'm sorry but this place has been a huge disappointment on the several occasions I've tried it. From the outside it looks like a great diner type place of the sort that used to dot America in small towns next to major roads. And it is deceptively popular--the parking lot is always near full and plenty of people eating inside. I can only guess they are there for the same reason I was--desperation caused by the lack of other eating opportunities in Green Valley/Sahuarita. But even so there are better places. Yes, the staff here is friendly and the service is fine. But the food is bland, tasteless and much of it seems like it comes out of a can.

I've been here a handful of times and after the first couple of visits I really resisted going back. Nothing horrible to speak of, but not great. The breakfast food is pretty good and they do serve it any time. The lunch and dinner items are hit and miss. Service is also hit and miss. I have friends who keep trying to convince us to go there with them and once I finally gave in they had problems with their food and the service was very slow, so I had to laugh. If you are under 55 be prepared to feel out of place and if you have children be prepared to be stared at.

Customer service was awful. We waited awhile for them to seat us even though there was no one there. Then they couldn't decide who was going to be our server, so they just let us sit there. Our waitress came over and was rude. She walked up and said, "What do you want?" That's all she said. I ordered eggs over hard and they were still runny so I asked if I could get eggs that were cooked more. They returned with my same half eaten eggs. They were either microwaved or put back on the grill half eaten. I am sick, so they basically put a sick persons half eaten eggs on a grill where they cook everyone's food. I asked to talk to the manager, who listened, then walked off without saying anything. We didn't see her again. The waitress walked up with our check, said she took the eggs off, and walked away. No apologies or explanations. I will NEVER go back. Save your money and skip this disgusting place.

Went here for breakfast today... not the best choice. I asked the server about their seafood benedict, she said it was very good, made with crab meat and shrimp. Since they didn't have many meatless options I decided to go with it... mistake number 2. After waiting almost half an hour for our food I received a grayish dish, made with imitation crab meat and the smallest, flavorless salad shrimp I've ever seen, smothered with a very bland hollandaise sauce. Others in my party rated their food as "ok". Denny's would have been an improvement.
